Got to play with the new @sunstonepj Eclips™ ADL that slides directly onto your stylus, and let me just say it’s a game changer.

The design feels so intentional; every detail was thought out, and honestly, I don’t have a single complaint.

The Style:
I love the shape. The round lens gives you a perfect, clear view. It’s not oversized, but it does add a little weight to the stylus, which feels a bit weird at first. Finding the right hand placement took a minute, but once I adjusted, it felt natural. I ended up turning the stylus to point towards me and it was *chefs kiss*

The Magnification:
It comes with a 4x magnification lens already attached, and let me be real — if you’re not used to magnification, you’re probably going to hate it at first (lol).
I couldn’t line up my stylus with my jump ring while looking through it, but to be fair, I don’t use magnification. Good news: it’s super easy to remove the lens (just two small screws).
If you’re already comfortable with magnification, the transition will probably be no big deal!

The Shade + Darkening:
When you’re not welding, it gives the perfect amount of shade — I could easily see the split in the jump ring. And when it darkens… it’s DARK.
The darkening happens instantly, and because it connects directly into the back of your machine, you don’t have to worry about welding “too fast” for it to catch.

The Cords:
Adding the Eclips does mean another cord at your workspace (making it three: stylus, ADL, and ground).
Ashley and I used electrical tape to bundle them together temporarily, but I’m excited to see what creative solutions others come up with as more people start using it.

Overall, I’m seriously impressed. Sunstone nailed the functionality, design, and ease of use with this new ADL.

If you’re looking for an easier, more seamless way to protect your eyes while welding — this is 100% worth it.

It does take a sec to get used to the new angle, but the comfort level is on another level. Only minor hiccup? Cord management, but hey, no tool is perfect. Overall, it’s a super affordable and simple upgrade for anyone serious about their craft. Would I say it’s a must-have? Maybe not a must, but definitely a very nice-to-have!
