Common questions
The Shades™ use welder-controlled darkening — the lens darkens before the weld fires, not after. This means you get protection first, without relying on a flash to trigger the lens. It's wireless, patent pending, and designed specifically for permanent jewelry artists.
Your Sunstone welder sends a wireless signal to the Shades™ lens the moment you initiate a weld. The lens darkens to Shade 12 instantly — before the arc fires — giving you full protection from the very start.
Not necessarily. The Shades™ are built for mobile artists who work on the go. The Halo™ is designed for studio artists who work at a fixed station. Many artists will find one fits their workflow perfectly — though some may want both for different settings.
Shades™ offer +3.5 magnification built into the eyewear. Halo™ offers the largest viewing area and best magnification in its class for studio use.
The Shades™ features a 12-hour rechargeable battery, giving you a full day of work on a single charge.
The Shades™ are designed to work with Sunstone welders and also with EverLinx, Helix, and PUK using the Sunstone Link, a universal adaptor. Please contact us if you have questions about compatibility with your specific model.
